I kind of really love my birthday. I always have since I was a little kid. Most people seem to grow out of enjoying their birthday as their age climbs, and while I’m not a fan of getting older, I like the feeling that comes with having a day that is all mine. Except since my birthday has been on a weekend for the last few years, I’ve granted myself birthday weekends. Why celebrate for one day when you can celebrate for three?
I’ve been in a bit of a funk this year. Making plans has been difficult. My friends are all over the place, but I’ve managed to nail down dinners and drinks with my closest friends and family and a date with the boy. I’m just hoping nothing gets in the way of it. With my luck, it may crash and burn before 7 PM tomorrow, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. So far 2012 has been kind to me, so I’m hoping this carries over into my birthday weekend, even if I have to start my Friday with a French exam.
Here’s to birthday celebrations I & II. Lunch after my exam with my dad and dinner and drinks with my best friend and cousins this evening.
Maybe turning 26 won’t be so bad. :)
